Peter Kappel is a cinemathographer based inVienna /Austria. Before becoming a Director of Photography, Peter developed his skills under the mentorship of many legendary cameramen including Dean Semler ASC, Dante Spinotti ASC, Douglas Milsome ASC, Robert Alazraki AFC, Phedon Papamichael ASC, Dietrich Lohmann. His credits as an AC and operater include Dallas, Family of Spies, Another 9½ Weeks, The Three Musketeers, Opernball, Silence Like Glass. Since 1997 Peter has been working as a DOP on commercials in a large number of international markets with clients such as ABB, Porsche, VW, Diners Club, Nestle, Audi, Coca Cola, ... For his work he received critical acclaim on several international festivals, such as a Silver Lion in Cannes for his AIDS commercial. Within the last years Peter has also been working on a number of TV series and films. His recent projects were "Die Freischwimmerin" for the ZDF and one of the most seen TV series shot in Germany "The Rosenheimcops".
